Ready to fish
#1
Well a guy I work woth gave me a 8ft Shakespear rod with a Shakespear reel. I know they are cheap but hey it was free. Finally got all my line on it and its ready to go. I just went oustide and cast with it. Its 2:30 am here so it was a little hard to see haha. It worked pretty good though. I had a time with some of my knots. They drove me crazy. I tried a nail knot to tie my backing to my line but that wasn't happening so I went with an Albright knot. It seems to hang just a little but ont bad. I just have to make sure Im all the way past the knot when I start casting. I did succeed with a nail knot for my line to leader connection, Then finished it off with a double surgeon's knot for my leader to tippet. I'm going to fish a pond tomorrow after church and I'm ready to go. Hopefully I'll catch something. Just hopefully not one of the 15 lb cats they have in there. It would be a hell of a fight but I dont wanna lose any of my flies... I dont have many yet haha. Yall have a great day.
