Ha ha I was afraid of that. ya know when i first started fishing for them there was a guy in a float tube below lower salmon dam that did just that. he would go out and wait to hook one then let it pull him around then work his way to shore and land it. yes he was giggling like a school girl and i would have never be leaved it if i hadn't seen it. Just rember use a short rod as two long of one and the fish will have lot of leverage you two will be staring eye to eye. I have a 6 foot boat rod your welcome to use Ron, I just don't have a extra reel. Oh and you might want to look into circle hooks as i dont think you will have enough strength or momentum being in a float tube to set the hook
