Fishing with the mouse is by touch, stripping it back and feeling for the strike.
Caddis is much more difficult, you need to believe you made a good cast, strip back line in what you believe is the right speed and listen for a rise. Many times you pick up the recast and there's a fish on. I've only once caught a fish when I've had my headlight on so I fish blind - at least I used to until I broke down and bought some night vision goggles - awesome!
