Night Fly Fishing Provo and Madison - night_flyguy - 07-26-2010 Last week on the Madison was great at night. Big caddis were coming off late. Size 10 stimulators for the big flies and size 16 x-caddis for the small caddis. Managed to land 9 rainbows from 13-18". Lost some bigger fish. First time with no browns in the mix. The rainbows seem to really have rebounded from whirling disease. Friday night on the lower Provo was slow. Only a few caddis flying around. Maybe another week or so and the fish will really key on the caddis at night. Took my buddy out for his first time blind fishing. He caught this nice brown on a mouse fly. For years I have been telling myself I need to go throw some mouse patterns at night on a full moon, there are some great spots on the Weber that look prime for some night mousing for some BIG Browns[ ![]() [signature] Re: [night_flyguy] Night Fly Fishing Provo and Madison - Weekend_Warrior - 07-26-2010 Awesome report!!!! Caddis is much more difficult, you need to believe you made a good cast, strip back line in what you believe is the right speed and listen for a rise. Many times you pick up the recast and there's a fish on. I've only once caught a fish when I've had my headlight on so I fish blind - at least I used to until I broke down and bought some night vision goggles - awesome!
