Madison on order / rod holder
#22
Peter,

Since I have not added any rod holders to my Outlaw yet I carry up to 3 rods in each of my Saddlebags. The tips get tangled occasionally so I was thinking about a way to add a small vertical post to the rear of the pocket with notches in it to put each rod at a slightly different angle to avoid this.

I like the idea of mounting the rods somewhere next to the seat (whether in the bag or on the frame) to minimize the amount of rod hanging out the back. I'll resort to mounting holders to the back deck if I can't come up with anything further forward.

I thought I could add the rod holders pictured above on the inner frame but the casting platform slides right thru there. The oars, when stored in the holders to the rear or left out and angled to the front (when moving backwards), interfere with a lot of the upper frame rail. Based on the pictures above I'm off to Lowe's to see if I can fit something in there.

Let me know when you get the new boat.
