There are

used by sprinkler guys to tie in to a line that are threaded with either 1/2" or 3/4" so you can get to a 1" PVC tube , like what TD builds to hold either fly or other rods.

I have been useing them for 2 years now and believe they are very good.
Here are a few setups. On this notice the velcro. I get the self adhesive kind and attach it to the tube and then wrap around the rod above the reel as an added precaution to keep the rods in, also the 1" T's are not glued so that they rotate to help keep the rod tips from coming together and also you can tilt them level with the water, if needed< when flinging a fly. I have not caught my rods yet[
