Nine footer is pretty normal....nice on the waves.
I went from a 6' Alpine to an 11' Cardiac Canyon, and now a 10'6" Outlaw.
The wider the boat, the more stable as well.
I don't stand up every trip, but I can if I want to, and I like that.
