Wiring a pontoon.
#3
Thanks TD. I bought a little metal box at Radio Shack, but pretty sure a regular outlet box and face place would work. I also picked up a big radio knob at RS. The wire is a flat wire ribbon with 4 or 5 wires in it, but any wire harness will work.
I then took the head off the motor and spliced the wires. Take the head apart and remove the reo stat. I glued it to the lid of the metal box and made notches where each click was. Later made the numbers.
Pretty easy once you get the material. The motor ended up small and compact and the controls, I could put right next to me.
If I had the motor on and got a hook up, it was easy to shut the motor off to land the fish.

What kind of motor do you have?
