Here in Idaho you can use a fresh caught trout or any other game fish for bait. That fish has to be included in your possession limit. And you also have to comply with the take on that body of water. So lets say you catch a trout in a area that has no harvest it is catch and release only. You can NOT use a wild trout for cut bait. You can bring one with you though (mort). Ron[/quote]
I knew there was a reason we bought morts for sturgies in the canyon. We go through a lot more than 6 per person so that would make sense.
