Well, see I need to carry more like four bottles of water
for a day of fishing at 90F+ in summer.
Sometimes four bottles in not a nuff. I like to hike away
from people, so no going back to car until the end of day.
Plus some food. Remember Im talking ALL day here[

In late fall and winter it would be nice to have a place to
put a jacket and worm stuff like that.
The pictures you seen from Santa Ynez is the place
where you can go for miles and miles. And ofcourse the
more you hike the better it gets.
Last time I was there (2 days ago), I was out away from
my car and everything about 10 hours. 9am to 7pm.
So see, backpack is a must for me.For the most part
to be able to take like six bottles of water in summer
