Need Help with fresh water fishing

O.k guys I'm new to this site and don't know alot about fishing that's why I'm here. First of all I've only fished in salt water. I have fished for Bluefish, Strip bass, Weak fish, Black fish, Snappers etc.... Now I wanted to try some fresh water fishing but don't know where to go. I live in New Jersey, Union City to be exact 2 miles from New York. I would like to go fishing on land for some nice size fresh water fish. Any suggestions on where to go? Also I think I may need a license right? Sorry about all the questions I just have no clue where to start. All help is appreciated. []

I don't mind driving 20 miles or more. Just looking for a nice fishing spot on land for some nice size fish.
