Hi there kevharris. As a child growing up during the depression we used a tin can wrapped in kite string as a drop line for fishing. Would be the same thing if one wrapped fishing line around a stick. To fish with a cane pole, we would tie a line to the tip pole and just fish it that way. There isn't any way that I know of attaching a can to a cane pole to work like a reel.[/size][/#008000][/font]
