If I were you, I would spend the money on 1 nice setup rather then a couple ok ones. Cabella's has 10-12 foot rods that work great, I weight mine at 60lb test, some people go a little higher. I am a Penn reel fan, I have a magged penn 555 that I love (use to use for shark fishing now sturgeon), but I also see a lot of big spinner reels, that just depends on whether or not you know how to cast a bait caster or are willing to learn. IFG asks you not to use braid or stainless steel hooks so if you break off the fish can lose the hook in a decent amount of time. 10oz pyramid weights are the ticket, you don't want to go anything less with the turbines running or you'll be down river all day/night.
