Kolob Reservoir - Sat May 3, 2003 Fishing Report

I met hedgesd and his bro at kolob res about 9:30 am . . with storm clouds moving in fast, I hastily put on more layers of clothing and watched them each bring in a nice fish before i could get my poles outta the trunk . . they were using brown wooly buggers and fly rods . .



i rigged my spinning rod up with a jig . . .they each caught a couple more while i missed strikes . .



i switched to a black bugger and spinning bubble and caught one . . i switched to a brown bugger like them and caughta couple more!



it kept snowing on and off . . .almost like a pebble hail . . then the sun would shine thru the clouds. . wild! a real nice morning! these guys have fished southern utah all their lives and i want to thank them for taking me out! we had pretty fast action going for 2 hrs or so . .

it slowed down real quick when the weather starting clearing up . . .

oh we were there about a 1/2 hour when the fish cops came to check everybody out - one was a delightful blonde of around 22 years . . . i think hedgesd was a little smitten, i know i was! hahahaha

the road from the south was totally clear, and it wasn't too crowded - prob 25-50 bank fisherman that we saw and a few float tubes and assorted small watercraft . .
