I'm really with you on the northern pike thing. Comins Lake just south of Ely NV had nothing but a bazillion chubs and a very rare big brown in it for years. The Nevada fish & Game introduced northerns and within about six years they had eliminated the chubs and were starving to death. A fortunate drought and a little rotenone got rid of them. After the lake refilled trout were stocked and it turned into a real dandy BIG trout lake. Unfortunately, there is a brainless clown in Ely that did the bucket biology thing with some northerns from Basset lake just north of McGill & now I guess trout stocking just feeds the northerns.
