[#0000ff]We all know that as long as the June sucker program is active in Utah Lake, there will be no other predators introduced to those waters. By trying to protect the precious "pucker mouths" we also give carpkind free reign...and they are the worst enemies of the Junies. Sounds like a government operation...doesn't it.[/#0000ff] [/reply]
They have documented cases of Gar attacks on people. I think most of them are probably on Gar anglers. I watched an In-Fisherman special on Alligator Gar, and you really have to manhandle them when trying to land them. The teeth are far more plentiful and dangerous than in Pike and Muskies, and boy are they strong. You can catch them with normal gear, but real Gar anglers will use a lasso rig that loops around the Gar's jaw and tightens up when the Gar takes the bait.
