I think you have the right idea, a 9/0 is a nice big real, it can handle 80 lb with no problem. If you are looking for extra capacity try using braided line, it is a thinner line and you can get about double on the reel. If you select 80 braid be sure to put a little 20 lb mono on the reel first then add the braid over the top. The mono will keep the braid from slipping on the spool. Also if you spool up with braid be sure you spool it on very tight so the line will not get burried in itself while fighting those big sharks.
