how is the action? i dont want to drive to lost creek if the lower lakes have better action.

Willard is probably a bust with these storms the last few days. Ya never know though. Mantua should be good for perch and gills. It was hot 2 weeks ago.[;)]

🕶 **I have not hit Willard for a couple of weeks, but in years past I have fished it right up to hard deck. And, I not only catch cats and wipers but have better luck with walleyes and crappies too…sometimes right in the channel of the north marina.**

\*\*The key to success in cold water is LOW, SLOW AND SMALL. Besides dragging minnows or crawlers, I fish small 1 1/2 inch tube jigs on 1/16 oz. heads. White, pearl, chartreuse or a blue/clear sparkle combo work the best. The latter has produced a lot of wipers as well as the few crappies and walleyes I have taken at this time of year. \*\*

**If you can tough it out, in the cold, it can be gangbusters the last hour before dark until an hour or so after dark. At that time, use a 2" to 3" chartreuse twister with a hot red head. I once caught about 15 walleye in an hour with this setup, after catching nothing the previous 3 or 4 hours.**

**I plan to hit Willard either the end of this week or sometime next week. And, unlike my normal early morning shots, I DO plan to make some late afternoon and evening trips.**
