I fish alone for a couple reasons. Car broke down so I can’t offer a ride to anyone.and my good buddy moved to saint george.with that said if I fish with someone. Always offer gas money if you can’t make that clear before your on the road. If They are driving you go were they take you and leave when they do you want to go else where or leave early you have feet use them. I do like company and if anybody want some drop Me a pm I can fish pretty much so any day of the week and enjoy any type fishing. I live in slc area
I’m not going to lie – I fish alone because I’m a selfish. I do like to meet up with people on occasion (fished with TubeDude, FlyGoddess, Old Troller, TDT’s), but we always meet up, say hello, and then get to fishing. They do their thing, I do mine, and we’re all happy. I suppose if I had a boat it would be a different story, but I’m usually in a pontoon boat or on a river. I hate having two people on a river, unless I’m there to watch/learn (which I love to do, by the way), because I don’t want to share with someone else. Shoot me, I am what I am. At this point in my life, fishing is an escape from stress, and with a house full of girls who don’t want to do anything unless it’s PINK, I need to find a body of water at least once a week in order to stay sane.
I love and admire those folks who want to go with other people – Gods know that I’ve been the lucky recipient of their generosity more times than I can remember. I wish I had the patience for friends/family, but I just don’t. Hell, I can hardly stand fishing with myself half the time.
My boat goes faster when I’m by myself =)
Nothing like the sound of the Twin air cooled Tanaka 2 stroke outboards running at close to 9000 rpm!
And if the fishing wuz good I’ll see if someone would like to tag along for the next trip, and when I go alone I take my cat Kitty!
Great post! I would have given it a thumbs up if this wuz like u-tube Id’a add it to my favorites!

except for a select few that i consider friends, and a few folks that i have only met through a few other forums, i hate people, thats why i fish alone
I really don’t like to fish alone, I have a blast sharing fishing adventures with my family and friends. It’s also good to have someone to brainstorm with when nothing is seeming to work. Plus it’s always good to have some one who can help your fishing stories hold up in court.
I think I’m still with you. For my hunting and my fishing the whole point is to create memories with friends.
Somehow telling a story of “this one time” looses a huge amount of value to me when no one was there to share it with me.
Also, I’m lucky enough to have friends and a wife that go fishing and hunting with me and let me run the show, so I always get to fish where I want, how I want.
I prefer to go with others but no scared to go it alone. You have way more flexibility by yourself and I can’t stay at one place and pound it all day even if the fishing is great. I tend to like to hit 2 or three places in a day because I get little time off. I also do a lot of solo fishing when I am camping with my family. I can get up early fish and get back in time to enjoy a great breakfast and the days activities with them, of course before going out fishing at night.
Don’t get me wrong, I go alone all the time, and have had some great days doing so, but at the end of those great days I’ve always wished I would have had someone else to share the fun with. Like the last big laker I caught through the ice, It wouldn’t have meant near what it did if I would have been alone. Having some great friends there and we’re all freaking out, I don’t think there’s anything better. But hey, to each his own, I figure as long as you’re out on the water and enjoying it, that’s what matters most.
