6 wt is probably the best overall rod for everything, But I have a 3wt 7.5ft 5wt 9.0ft and 8wt 10ft I will fish the 8wt 10 footer every time I fish any lake with sinking line, its a lot easier to pull sinking line out of the water with some backbone, and I like others I throw some bigger flys!!! All personal preference though!!! [;)] Oh and it works nice for pike too!!!
