Fished BP-109 Wednesday night. One Barracuda was all we could muster all night. I did lose one huge fish that never stopped peeling of line.
Caught a barracuda trolling early in the morning. Then quickly got our limit of amberjack at a closer in rig. Then went to the twelve mile rigs and closed the day on some snapper. Largest went an honest 15 lbs.
To all you king mackerel chasers. There were large schools of mullet being chased by kings about 5 miles to the ENE of South Pass in about 100-120 foot of water.
Was hoping for tuna at BP109. Any suggestions on a better rig for night tuna out of Venice?
Also saw a deer on I-10 while Heading to New Orleans from B.R. and another one on the west bank while heading down South Pass. Both deer where seen during bright daylight conditions.
