I think the Pelican Point area could make a great recreational area. There is a nice gravelly beach on the north side of the point and a potentially great boat launch site just to the north of the point where there appears to have been a gravel pit in the past.
Continued efforts to rid the shorelines of that cussed phragmites in public access areas will be a great help also.
I’ve got some Scouts getting their Eagle Projects in order. One of them, at least, has chosen to clear the phragmites from a portion of the lake. I had 12 Scouts last summer clear about an acre and a half at Utah Lake State Park and it took about 90-man hours. They hacked at that stuff from 9-noon for three days.
If anyone is interested in joining the Scouts as part of an Eagle project, let me know.

I ask for nothing.
Less Acess = Less people.
Its already over crowed .
Free or low cost access point to the cartopper and 'tooning crowd would be nice. I usually launch from Lincoln beach, because I can’t justify spending $5-8 just to launch a cartopper.

The Knolls has been a free launch area…but is now off limits. However, the Saratoga Marina at Pelican Bay is no charge for tubes and cartops. Only charge is for vehicles towing trailers/boats.
From a fishing standpoint, Lincoln Beach has always been one of the better spots for tubers, tooners, yakkers and cartoppers.

Bummer hearing about the Knolls, was a fun place to fish.
Hope something can be worked out with regard to that access. Thank you for working with the officials to try and come up with a fix.
The access/launching area in Springville on the west side of the freeway could use a larger parking area. It seems to be a pretty popluar area, but the parking lot is only able to hold about 5-6 trucks and can be a real mess at times.
I would also like to see some improvements to the launch area in Goshen Bay. It’s a great location but the condidtions and ease of use are far below par.
I agree with you about the Springville area and have already sent in a lengthy recommendation to Mr. Price and the DWR about it. I would encourage you (and anyone else) to also send in your comments to Mr. Price at the email provided by Tube Dude at the beginning of this thread. If the same areas are talked about by multiple people, I do believe there will be action taken, but it probably can’t be just one or two folks sending in comments to Mr. Price to make it happen.
