Ok to lay the fish in a Hog Trough instead of next to a tape? Sure makes measuring easier for the angler and makes it easier for you to see the precise length of the fish.

Yes. I agree. Hawg Trough type measuring boards are good and acceptable for the challenge. Just be sure the nose is up against the end.
