Not sure how many of you saw the article on KSL but it sounds like they are finally going up ungrade the Port ramp and that area by swim beach and make a big parking lot and picnic area there, the article actually shows an aerial view of the spot that will be developed.
We have talked about this before but also they plan on putting in that new ramp at Causey, along with a new parking lot and upgrades to the road. This is all starting now, into 2027
I looked at that the other day. They are going to expand the parking area near the Causey Estates gate and put in a concrete boat launch. BUT - it APPEARS that the boat launch will be for launching kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc. If you look at the parking lot layout, you will notice there are NO lengthened slots for parking a vehicle with a boat trailer attached. And it is one of the 4 ‘wakeless’ reservoirs listed by the state - Causey Reservoir (Weber County), Lost Creek (Morgan County), Porcupine Reservoir (Cache County, Porcupine Reservoir Company), and Smith and Morehouse (Summit County).
As for Pineview, as long as it is managed by a concessionaire, I will not be using it. There isn’t any fish of interest to me in there that I can’t catch at numerous other locations.
Here is a link to the story:
At least last Fall they finally dropped their outrageous price to launch a boat and in the Fall there isn’t many wake boarders. The crappie fishing and perch fishing is better but the biggest issue is I have seen that ramp out of the water in low water years, so that could happen again this year. This is a bonus fish we caught last Fall, while trolling for crappie
Pineview is the closest lake to me and I’d love to fish it for bass, perch, and crappie. But not until it is no longer managed by a rapacious concessionaire.
Amen
