Ya I have never caught any type of trout ever at bear lake. Even last year was the first time I ever. Sight a fish at bear lake when I went there at least 6 times in my life or more. Ya I only caught one perch there before and it was like 8 in. So stocked for fishing this year hope my stop will be good this year.
You need a friend with a boat in the fall. Thinking they are so close to shore (75 to 50 feet of water which is close to shore) during the lake trout spawn at Cisco Beach that I can pontoon and vertical jig them this year.
What an AWESOME, EPIC, AMAZING trip! Dispite breaking the camera lens, having car troubles twice, forgetting 2 out of the 4 tent poles, having the tent torn to shreads in a barbed wire fence, and you TDT braking my fly rod just as I was about to bust it out for the first time in 10 years…it was an still a fantastic, increadible trip!
That lower Beaver River and Fish Lake were amazing! Can’t wait to do that whole trip again next year.
Buying a new fly rod today, try not to break this one k TDT! At least let me get a few fish with it first![;)]
WOW, how can this old fart compete with this??? Good on you guys.
So who said it was a competition old man? Oh, they did. . . I still think Sparky can “dog” them any day of the week!
Epic boyz - love the mishaps, what can I say. Birds of a feather… my dad used to quote a sister of a rockclimber - in saying the reason they climb up to those peaks is so they can feel the wind blow through the holes in their heads. YOU gents have earned such accolades.
So many ventures back to back, quite the novel. I envy you the freedom of youth to have such journeys. Recall back in the day - when I’d just take my pickup and campershell and - go - no destination, no route, no plan, just go and see what the world brings. Enjoy it while you can is all I can offer.
Great fish, great variety of settings. Love the ski photos too - maybe they should open a board for pinhead anglers!
So do you keep a log? I seem to have a hard time remembering what I cooked for dinner last night, least of all how many mudcats I might have plucked off a hook. I’m with MM - can’t count over 10. Don’t have a clicker, don’t intend to get one (have one, but . . . ) anything over a dozen becomes “lots” in my book. Course if I gotta watch a perch limit or some such - I’ll count…
Cheers and rock on dudes. Maybe someday you’ll earn gratis to share the “secret scent”!
No, it’s not a competition as such but I’m meeting up with one of the Twins soon and am planning to show him “my spots” on the Web. I was trying to say, I don’t see much hope of him having that kind of success in my area. I just hope he isn’t disappointed. [frown] Also, he has hinted at having me show him some stuff with fly fishing. Kind of looks like the role may be reversed.[:/]
