Trolling Question??

One more point and I hate to counter BLFG because he has more time on the water than I do sleeping, but don’t discount Black’s releases, I totally love them. I do shoot archery and the black release is a lot like a bow release and let’s you have a ton of control over how your line will release. If you’re just catching hogs at Bear Lake, finess don’t matter, but if you play with finless Freddie’s from time to time, it’s nice to be able to get your release dialed in. I think the Chamberlain is a similar design, but I haven’t tried that one. I have used the others mentioned and to me the Blacks is by far my favorite. Scotty is number two but when the spring popped out and broke on me and spoiled a trip I wasn’t too happy. You have a ton of excellent advice and don’t be overwhelmed it’s really not too hard. One draw back of the DR is you aren’t holding the rod when you get the strike and I miss that, but you sure catch more fish being at the correct depth. Good luck and have fun. J
