Bigcat, sorry we did not say hi. I am usually more sociable than that. I think that between the cold while we were getting ready and the fact that we both probably had one thing on our minds we were both getting right to it! We also caught fish throughout the water colum. Fish finders are invaluable. I did catch 1 bow at about 16". First one I have seen in a lot of trips this year. We caught 45 between the two of us and 4 over the slot and many more that we could have possibly stretched. Great day, we will have to put it together better next time. Jake

Has anyone “fuzzied” the Marina and test the ice thickness?
i also made the trip up to mud creek with a friend. got on the ice about 8am and had the best success between 8:30 and 10:00. we iced 22 between the 2 of us and left around noon. when it slowed down around 10 we went around and met some of you guys. i’m not sure of the names but, i met: bigcat, fishingminnesota, mgb, maybe ifg, killerbee?, and a few others. it was good to meet you guys and get some good pointers and advice from the pros! it was a gorgeous day. we also drove by cce and saw a group fishing there. until next time!

yeah, that was us. i hope it wasn’t us that brought you bad luck when you were wrestling the fish. snapped your line right? it was a HUGE fish!! at least 7 or 8 lbs, right? [;)]
I’m sure you guys didn’t bring any bad luck. I use light line and when those big dudes take a run along the edge of the ice it can get cut/snapped pretty quick. One of the risks of 4lb test line…oh well. Heck as long as were dreamin’ might as well say he was at least 12 pounds! Good to meet you guys.

I thought about it, but the ice wasn’t very slick, so I wouldn’t have gotten such a good effect![;)]

He couldn’t throw his rod. He didn’t bring it. I lent him one of my spares. He even had the nerve to outfish me with my gear.
