I just got online and wanted to add that I had a great time fishing. This was my first time ice fishing with a fishfinder and when I move back to an area that has consistent ice fishing I’ll definitely be buying one! Now I know what I’ve been missing. It was so cool to watch the fish and know when they were close to your jig. I caught all my fish on white tube jigs with mealworms and then late in the day on a small pearl gitzit with powerbait. I caught more and larger fish than I usually do which I have to thank Kent for. We definitely worked hard for it though by not staying close to where everyone else fishes. Lots of action on the jig seemed to get the fish interested but they usually just swam up to the jig without biting. I missed more than I caught and had a lot of long line releases. If I had a better pole I think I could have brought a lot more fish to the hole so now I just have one more thing to buy. Well it was a great day I won’t soon forget.
