On a small isle in the middle of da pond….

The Yellowfin were thick….fun size kine…
30 ta 60 pounders…
Quite the Spectator show….
But…

no mo nothN…!
they no bite ANYthings….
Only can watch….
& watch them a plenty, bustin bait all over…
`tiny bait…
but…

no bite… they no bite nothing… we try Every things… still.. no mo noth`N..!

cept… da guys…. They get em… Get Plenty…. Everyday…. Make look Easys…
But…

secrets…. They no tell no ones… They hide stuff wen come back… On watas… they stop wen other come close so… no can see nothNs…. Wen no look… They HuuK UP..!
doubles…triples….
Only go 30 feet & Rods Stay Bens!!!
Still…

They keep secret…
LAUGH wen get back…no Shame… All others… Hang head….Shames….

Then one mornings…..
Stay dark still… we follow trailer to harbas….
In their boat, rods stay rigged & readys….
`readys fo go Kill Tunas….
While the rest stay Watch….

BUT LOOK !!!
Rod Stay Ben…
Truck stay goings…
Line peeleen out da reel…
Betta stop… `look…

WoW !!!

`look there…
their lure stay stuck on tree as go by…
Quick…get it.!!!

Ahhhhhh….THE SECRET WEAPON….

Now…
we go… we get… get plentys…. Others watch….. We Smile…. da guys… they Smile back as rods stay ben…

Such a simple secret too.
Why no one think this simple lure befores…?

Hey Dan, thanks for the color combo. Looks good, easy to make.
I noticed that you’re having a problem with The fishies biting through the line. There’s a way to fix that. Use a small barrel swivel teid on the main line. Use about 9 feet of flourocarbon between the swivel and the lure. Flourocarbon will get you more bites and is much more abrasion resistant than mono.

yea, easy & productive…

That is probably true bout the flouro, but this is for when they wont eat anything with swivels. Maybe a line to line connection without swivel..?
Using the single hook, it often gets in the corner / side of mouth but the double gets stuck inside.
Having it swish the surface is necessary with the double kine.

Try it when ya get the 30 –60 lb. kine yellowfin on the ledge. (the double with aurora outer.)

Nice looking deciever fly pattern there as well Dan I notice (sky blue topside with trailing schlappen feathers).

We have something similar down here as well with a single or double SS hook rig called a “hack jig fly”. Bounce then along the surface to Tuna, Mahi etc.

As you say, simple and real effective although I have not busted a marlin on one as yet. There’s a pleasant thought!
