Talked to maghunter and Kent71 today. If I had known that was you Kent I would have invited you over to the hot holes before I invited those guys from Blackfoot.

I had a great afternoon.[angelic] When I got back from my meetings is all I was hearing was negative reports. As I looked around the lake from the top I noticed that there were people in all of the places that I normally like. So I went down to the command post with the intention of taking the vexilar on an exploring expedition through all the old holes. There were abandoned holes everywhere from people who did not do well in the morning.

The funny thing was I started with holes right in front of the command post that I had drilled for my son in the morning. I was startled to see that there were a ton of fish right in the first couple of holes that I checked so I called for my second son to bring the poles and bait fast.

We started fishing at 2:30 and limited out by 3:00. Then I gave up my holes to 4 guys from Blackfoot. Each of them caught four fish before the school took off.

I appologize to everyone for my “Mike Iconelli” screams.

This is what I sounded like!!!

I just couldn’t believe my luck after Steelfisher, my son, my other neighbor and his kids, and his neighbor and kid didn’t get into them all morning I walked right up and pulled them out. Thats Koke fishing for ya.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to meet you Don. Some guys did bring down the camper this evening.

Windriver

We’ll meet up again. Now I know who you are! I didn’t want to yell out “Hey Windriver,” in the dark and have some guy just look at me like I lost my mind!

The parking lot was so full this morning I think they waited until the afternoon to bring the camper in.

I knew it. I predicted you would post some great report after we had left. Oh well keeps me hoping for next time. That is a pretty good spot, most of the time. We’ve gotten into a lot of Kokanee along there in the past. The highlight of our day is having the game warden stop by to check our license; my Dad had left his wallet at home, he explained this to the fish cop and he said no problem as long as these guys will vouch for you. My brother and I enjoy giving my Dad a hard time so we told the cop we don’t know who the heck this guy is he just barged in on our holes and won’t leave, in fact we were hoping you could mace him or tase him, see if he will leave us alone. The fish cop thought that was pretty good.

No problem, They were already there when I walked up from the line. It was fun watching you tell them to get ready and set the hook and within seconds they had a bite. Kind of like fishing 101
By the line I saw 10 kokes by 4 guys but caught but mostly one at a time. That is about all other than a few perch that I caught. 7 to 9" of ice there mostly but under the snow in one spot there was 6".
I was told that the kokes were by the rock point ( on the east side ) toward the dam for a while and many limited out around 1 pm. Thanks for showing me your Vexlar. I have got to get me one of them. Will they zoom 5’,10’,15’ ect like the other range scale?

I am heading up again today. Maybe the Koke gods will be a little more generous today. Should be there around 10am.

Ya, that did end up being a little fishing 101 class. I could see the fish biting their poles but they couldn’t see it or feel it.

My Vex (FL-18) only has the zoom for the bottom five feet of water. The marcum VX-3 and VX-5 can zoom in on any five foot section of water that you want.

The fish were coming through at all different levels today so I know I would not have been as successful as I was without the Vex.

Just got back. It was a very nice day up there as far as the weather. The fishing was slow. No kokes and only heard of one group of them coming through while I was there from 10-5. I got a couple hits, but could not hook them due to being far and few between. I did manage one Cut about 16" and 25 Perch. Never seen one koke on the camera like last weekend. It is time for a Vexlar or similar.

Arrived before sun up and only hooked two for the trouble. I guess we stunk up the joint as well. Nothing was moving on the screen today but Suckers and Trout.

I use my LCD graph from the boat all the time on the ice, It is about 5 seconds slower than a flasher when showing a fish and a bit longer to see how big it is. I have mine scroll as fast as it will go. Some times that time lag will cost you a fish or two if you are not ready. I do like that a graph will have a record of what happened for a short time in case you were not watching it all the time. I split my screen to zoom in to a 20’ area on one half. A vexlar is much more user friendly on the ice with knobs to quickly make adjustments vs finding it in a menu on a graph. The zoom is great when moving between holes and looking at the bottom. One day I will get a Vexlar.

I watched the high end Vexlar in action today. I’ll stick with my Lowrance Ice Machine.

Fished down by the line tonight and had four groups of kokes come thru and got 22 perch before leaving at dark.

Nice, did you get any Kokes? How long did you fish?

Don’t be fishing out my perch before I have a chance to get mine on Monday.:sunglasses: Sounds good can’t wait to hear the details.

I caught my kokes in the first 15 minutes and then groups continued to come through as I fished for perch. Some were on the bottom, but most were from 12 to 15 feet down.
