I’m guilty as charged. I do read other posts quite regularly, and yes, I have been out several times and not posted about it so here goes.
Earlier in July I hit Willard for the evening bite with my daughter and Brookie. Left mid afternoon expecting several hours of fishing before dark but the traffic was so bad that it took 2.5 hours to get to the south marina. Fishing was slow for the couple of hours that we got to fish but Brookie got one eye and my daughter caught a pretty nice one. I was the skunk on this trip.
Then is was off to the Western Uintah’s for a 3 day trip with a backpack to Notch lake and surrounding area. Fishing was slow but everyone who tried caught fish, mostly brookies and grayling. We got our moneys worth on weather with severe thunderstorms and hail everyday but only for a few hours in the afternoon.
I ended up July with a trip to the 'Nelle with a church group of 8 year old boys. None had ever caught a Kokanee and some had never caught a fish. We corrected that for all 5 boys several times that morning. Then they wanted to swim so in they went! The boy in the middle was top dog with that 19.5" koke that he had to shoulder for the photo! We got 3 others over 17" but the rest were cookie cutters but the boys didn’t care and had a blast. We do activities with them twice a month and after we got home, several boys asked if we could go fishing every time!
So there you go, 3 posts in one! I haven’t been out in August yet, but I intend to so I’ll try and do better and post once in a while. Hopefully others will do the same.
