Its going into the shop this Friday June 5 for turbo backpressure delete this doesn’t affect emissions. Its a nagging oil leak that kept getting worse to the point of leaving a large puddle on the driveway. I installed a new turbo about 6yrs ago, since this requires me to kneel over the front reaching to center top back of motor, my new knees are not ready for this stress test yet. I’m heading to the Berry June 4 with a couple of my neighbors dragging my boat with my 05’ Escalade which it does a great job as a hauler, comfort and no diesel noise too. ![]()
Good luck on the Berry . It’s been about two weeks or so since I have been there . We don’t go after the Kokanee . My boat is not set up for Kokanee . We fly fish ,and we caught a bunch of nice rainbows , which is nice to see .
I don’t know if you mean going to a repair shop ,or just your own ? Both my diesel trucks I have owned , I do as much work on them as my expertise allows . The only time my old 7.3 was in a shop was for that cam positioning sensor , not knowing that was the cause it wouldn’t start one morning , after that carried a spare , and tools to replace it ,but never had it go out again . This Cummins is a bit different story ,but so far it’s been pretty good ,couple emission problems .
I found a diesel shop thru a friend that had a problem on the way to meet me a couple years ago in Pinedale ,Wyoming. He was coming back from Colorado , when his truck had a CEL pop up near Park City ,started googling a repair shop ,found this one close by in Coalville . Name of it is Summit Auto Repair . They took care of his problem that day ,sent a guy to Salt Lake for the part , got him fixed back on the road ,and was having dinner with us in Pinedale at the RV park we were at . My point of all this , if you or anyone are interested in a reputable shop ,they are about the only one I trust . I have used them for an emission problem that I didn’t want to deal with . Also another friend ,and neighbor that we fish together , Summit has done some work on his old 2002 7.3 diesel . From what I seen there they specialize in diesel trucks .
I know a bit about having some repair done on our old bodies , had an ankle fusion going on three years now , gave me the fits for awhile , doing okay on it now . Still able to wade fish the rivers ,just not as easy as it was . Talking to friend that had both knees done , we were talking about working on our trucks , he has most of his done by someone now , he said his knees just don’t allow him to kneel , and getting underneath the truck etc. as well .
Yes, its going into a shop in West Haven for this oil leak to be repaired. I normally do what I can usually to do my own fixes but not this task.
Since it was a Friday with the truck going into the shop, I wasn’t expecting to get it out until Monday. At 3pm I had a phone call that it was all done. This is the 3rd time I’ve used All Pro Performance in West Haven with excellent results.
Thats good to know ,I am pretty reluctant to take my truck to someone . We had an auto repair shop in Centerville where I live ,and worked for 42 years that I used . It was right next to the place I worked . Several guys I worked with used that shop ,it was very convenient being next door , and they did good work . I don’t even know if it’s there anymore . Been retired now for nearly 16 years .
That All Pro Performance is one I will keep in mind if needed ,a lot closer than having to go to Coalville . I’ll mention that one to a friend that has the 2002 Superduty 7.3 . He is in need of some work done on his .
I see mostly trucks they work on, can’t remember if there were any cars in his surroundings needing maintenance. The old saying “can’t see the forest for the trees”
That s what I have seen at Summit Auto Repair there in Coalville is mostly trucks .
