There were no legal halibut weighed in on Friday January 24th and a prior engagement of Whale Watching for the Cub Scouts of Troop 134 from Lakewood preempted the January 25th derby fishing .

Here is the winner of the Pot O’ Gold Halibut derby for Sunday, January 26, 2003.

Pictured here with the big fish of the day is Oscar Garcia of El Monte, California. Oscar’s fish weighed in at a respectable 13lb. 11oz. landing him a free pass and currently a spot on the March 9th fish -off for the Pot O’ Gold cash prize.

That ends our second week’s competition with the weekly cash prize going to John Watkins of West Covina. John’s 20lb catch on January 22nd nabbed him a cool $82 and he still holds the number 2 spot overall.

The Pot O’ Gold Jackpot stands at $166 with 5 weeks to go.
