Pineview Politics 11-2-10

“It’s funny - cuz whenEVER I see I fish flop on the surface I say - “ah, probably just a carp”. Usually the case, but some of these - I saw stripes, I saw long bodies - they weren’t no carp.”

:sunglasses:**Oh yeah. There are definitely a few “toothy carp” among the frolicing fishies on top. I saw at least one fairly close on Tuesday…clear out in the middle of the channel. In fact, I suspected that it may have just disposed of one of the little crappie floaters I left on top of the water. Didn’t see the object of its attentions. **

If you re-read my original comment, I used the word “most” when referring to the splashers as being carp. In matters of fishing…never say “never”…or “always”.

Hey went up last night from 5-10 pm. Caught a limit but was forced to keep eight small ones because they were bloated. I hate wasting fish. Around eight I got into a school of 10-11 inchers and finished off my limit. Nothing over 12".

:sunglasses:Nice work.

Hope some big ones show up. At least we know there are several year classes in the lake.

“They also said they were getting munched off a lot around the docks when fishing lures in that area. Seems a gang of tiger hooligans has taken over that area and intercepts the stuff you offer to the other fishies”

me and jiggyjus10 went to pinview on oct. 30th and we fished the docks as we were leaving. we didn’t catch anything but right after we left another boat jumped right where we were and pulled out a small muskie. unfortunately he did not know how to handle a muskie and it is probably dead now. for one he held it out about 3 times too long. he held it completely wrong and then because he held it wrong it bit him and he dropped it on his boat. struggling to pick it up. by the time it was back in the water i believe that he lasted another few hours than died. Sad about the muskie. . . even more sad that me or jiggyjus10 did not catch this tiger.

anyways nice job at the view. I am not happy about it but I am done with fishing for the year. after a brutal beating from pineview for 4 trips I self declared that I am done with bass for the year.

:sunglasses:**Sorry about the harsh treatment Pineview has been dishing out. But, don’t give up. One way to look at it is that it can ONLY GET BETTER. **

Seriously, you probably started pursuing the bass just a wee bit late in the year. Wait until they move shallow next spring and summer and I am sure you will do much better.

Sad but true about the muskies. A lot of them are caught by folks who have no idea how to handle them…and they are killed by ignorance. Surprisingly they are not very tough and cannot tolerate too much handling. Even after a proper landing and reviving process they are sometimes difficult to get swimming again. After bouncing them around in the boat and keeping them out of the water too long it is almost guaranteed that fish will never dance on another angler’s line.

What are you going to do with all that extra time over the winter? Make snowmen with fishing poles in their hands?

ya I wil definatly start fishing for bass a lot earlier next year. thanks for the tips.

haha you read my mind with the snow fisherman. if I’m not fishing and I’m not on this website, I am thinking of how to fish or what to say on this website.

have a great winter. well… make the best out of the worst season
