Photographing flies

Well are you? Oh I guess not otherwise you would have been 4F. Got to be able to read those flags on those naval ships.

lol.. one can only hope..

MacFly

no Im not color blind.. and what flags are you talking about.. ?? a land lubber like me dont know nuttin bout flags ..LOL>.

MacFly :sunglasses:

[inline FLAGS.jpg]Flags are easier to learn than the morse code. Thought with the latter it doesn’t matter if you are color blinds.

lol. have not seen those in years.. but color does matter.. take for example.. hotel and kilo.. and papa and sierra.. very similar in design .. with difference in color..

btw.. when I was in my first school in the Navy I learned morse code and by the time I retired I was able to recieve it at about 30 groups a minute.. (by hand and on a typewriter.. lol).. a group is comprised of five characters.. so 30 groups a minute is the equivalent of about 150 characters a minute.. or there abouts.. LOL>. dont ask me to even try that now..

MacFly :sunglasses:

I opted for semaphore.

so you were an SM?? now those guys can be awesome to say the least.. Ive sat on deck watching them bs’ing with another ship between messages.. LOL> and all of it done without flags of any kind.. just the good ol hands.. amazing site to see a couple of guys who know what they are doing..

MacFly

30 groups per ain’t too bad, Mac.

Of course, computers and high-speed telegraphy equipment has taken all the fun out of it. Nowadays you can encrypt and send a burst message in a matter of seconds. Indeed,

NSA has radios with built-in encryption algorithums. You talk in the clear, and, unless the receiving station has a similarly encrypted set, all a listener hears is static.

But what can you do.? Comuters have killed everything.

When were you in?

I was in between 74 and 95.. and the NSA was my big boss.. (hope they arent monitoring me now.. )

as I said.. 30 gpm was not long before I got out.. today Id be lucky to get 5 gpm.. lol..

even with the advent of computers you still need operators to run them.. and if they fail.. pick up the slack.. LOL..

You know better than that. NSA monitors all electronic transmissions. What you hope for is that nobody has requested a filter with your name on it. [;)]

Whoops! I didn’t really say that out loud, did I?

lol.. I been out of that since 95… dont think anything I remember is of any value to anyone now.. computers and all ya know..LOL..

MacFly :sunglasses:

If his name had a filter on it they would be calling him the Marlboro Man.

hehehehe
