Sorry for the delay on the links, I was waiting for a reply from my Congresswoman regarding some questions I had on the bill. I does turn out that it would include a “Grandfather” clause, and a Ruger 10-22 would be legal but most .17 HMRs would not be for some reason. Guns with thumbhole stocks would also still be banned for some reason.
My congresswoman said that this bill would expire if it was not passed by the end of the 110th congress later this year. But she said that there was no doubt that it would be re-written early in the next congress, and it would probably have even harsher restrictions than what the current bill has.
It’s easy to get caught up in the thought process that no one needs an AR 15 to hunt with. Look where that got old man Jim Zumbo…[:p]
Anybody that limits one gun won’t stop there, the anti-gun crowd would love to stop your right to bear arms regardless if you own a .22 pistol or a .50 cal sniper rifle. People will find that soon enough there will come a time that all guns rights will be questioned as America looks to stop responsible gun owners from owning guns and as America looks the other way on the real problem, violent criminals getting guns illegally. I don’t think too many gang bangers get a gun from Sportsman’s Warehouse or Doug’s Shoot n Sports. Let’s face it, they get them by stealing themand selling them out of their trunk. I know plenty of knuckleheads that have bought guns from someone who knew someone that knew someone who had some guns in his trunk. Get real people, they want your deer rifles off the streets as much as the oozie that Tupac got capped with!!!
