Good for you Pat, glad someone got out there before ice covers the lake. I was actually considering getting out there my self this week but decided on fishing a local community pond instead. From the looks of it we might get early ice on the Bay this year[;)].

**You could have probably broken through the 1" skim ice with a boat without damage. There were places I could rock my tube up over it and break it. But other places were too much for the tube. So I made an attempt around the dock and the north side before giving up and cutting across the lead to the south side. (See pic for ice thickness)

Most years there is a BIG storm around the last week of November or first of December…followed by single digit night temps. That’s what it usually takes to cap the lake. But with the cold spell last week taking the surface temps down to 34 already it shouldn’t take more than a couple of calm nights and teen temps to get the job done.

Hope we can find a few more fish this year.
