Newton Fun

I have no idea. He talked for a while with those two guys that were in the canoe on Monday. I don’t think they filled anything out. I have never really payed attention to his shirt either. I have seen his truck too, but just assumed he worked for the DWR.

I would be money you are talking about a summer worker who has been hired for the mussel program…lakes all over the state are getting the same treatment. I would bet that this individual not only cannot issue citations but has not been hired to check for licenses or do any other work. The state is making a pretty concerted effort at keeping the quagga mussels out of the state…for that they should be applauded.

Couldn’t agree more with your last statement.

Can you launch a toon from the launch, without taking a mud bath?

You could last Monday. It was steep, but doable. Ktrout launched his kayak from there.

I did get kind of muddy though from that area. I had to carry my kayak out by hand and it was kind of akward and heavy which is one of the reasons I got muddy. If I was using a float tube, I think I could have gotten out without getting muddy. It is actually really steep right there and probably not a far walk at all to launch from the point next to the launch area.

I asked the guy at Benson about that. There was talk about a “minimum pool” and after seeing Condie dry up and die off - I raised the question. Seemed it’s more a calendar date than a water level limit.

Maybe one of our farmer friends might have input.

Might be an interesting year under ice. Could see some real problems with edges if the res’s are filling through the winter…

Maybe need a board to get past the mud to the water - think we’ll need some longer ladders this year???
