Have you tried a ski boot with a fast relief binder for your skis on sled. This might work.Old ones every where.
tks, interesting, but not realy an option for me.
my skies will be a perminate fixture to my sled. i just need to stop dragging my stuff down the gravel roads.[:p]
I am replacing my skies today with slats cut from a 55 gallon drum. it will be wider, tougher and will stand up higher in the snow than the cross contry skies.
as promiced a while back, here is a photo of the skies I made to replace the cross contry skies.
I made them about 5 inches wide. this gives it more lift up on top of the snow.
this past weekend an old fishing buddy came out with his home made sled.
Might I add, it works well with its wide water skies and a minow bucket attached to the rear, his also doubles as a seat when the lid is closed. he did of corse place on stainless hinges in place of the plastic ones the original comes with.
