[inline IMG00080.jpg]got to spend about 6-7 hours in my tube and I gotta say WOW im ADDICTED now.
I think the best way to get used to a tube (this being only my second day in one) is to get to a spot you wanna fish and fish it. LOL i was fishing in the 15-20 MPH wind all day and let me tell ya i got good and steering this thing. sometimes almost twisted my legs in a pretzel though.
overall great day and im hooked on tube fishing now. Im still buying a boat next summer but just to make it easier to get across the lake for my tube hehehe
oh and i caught my first fish in it early this morning. it was about a 1.5lb bass. this evening i caught another bass and about 5 or 6 perch. probably coulda caught more but i had to head to the boat dock before sunset to enjoy the beauty with my wife. put a worm on for her and she caught a perch.
BTW i LOVE large mouth bass fishingm but i found it is nice and entertaining to hook up a worm and bobber and cast it out and hook the pole in my tube. this thing is nice and comfy with my tackle box strapped to it, 2 poles a brick for an anchor and a drink.
(if you cant tell i love float tubes now) yall can expect to hear a lot more from me.

first time I went out in a tube I was with tn2 (td’s son), dr, and bendopolo on a quiet pay to play lake in our area.. I was hesitant at first since it was the first time but once I got in and moving.. and distracted using my fishing gear I was in heaven .. so quiet and serene.. I got a few good nibbles but no hook ups (with the fish anyway)…and like you I was hooked.. the feeling of being mobile on the water.. is so empowering and relaxing at the same time…

As others have said I would never turn a tube over on purpose. I have tubed for twenty years and never turned one over other then stumbling on the bank. I have fished or been stuck out in huge waves at Henrys Lake and Yellowstone Lake and never turned over a donut tube or a pontoon.

Just thought I’d report that the tube is filled and ready to go for the opening day up here(Saturday).
Stopped by Cdn. Tire and picked up some tubes and whatnot…tomorrow I think their fins go on sale so by Saturday Morning I should be ready to go…here’s hoping the weather holds as it should!
