Darn you have sharp eyes. Will try positioning the bead in front of the grove. Since brass is a non-magnetic material the eye has to make contact with the magnet. What would we do without you MacFly. BTW I will be expecting you to sight see the trout or what ever on Sunday.

Macfly answered it for you. Turn the fly around so that the bead is sitting on top of the groove, that puts the eye down in the groove. It took me a second to figure this one out.
be happy that it was in that size box. Smaller boxes would fall into cracks and through the rollers of conveyors.
Oh yes - & some of us are always hurrying faster than we can think. I grabbed a beaded fly and said oh no that probably won’t work at which point I tried another non-beaded tiny fly & walla. Would have played around more with different sizes but had a party to attend with free drinks. Heck I can play with that threader any time.
Put your drill press away MacFly for the MFT handles beaded flies just fine. The hurryer I go the behinder I get. At this rate I won’t have any butt left to kiss goodbye.

… as it turns out when I last posted today I was also in a hurry.. the drive home gave me time to think and the only thought I could come up with was the position of the fly.. either that or drill that darn hole..
.. I am glad FG posted and cleared this up for us.. I am sure I would of driled tooo much.. but as it turned out I was not able to find one of the threaders at my local sport chalet.. [crazy]
