Very sad to report Minersville as a fishery is gone, possibly for years . Some are saying even as a body of water. Hope they are wrong.
Looks pretty bad. Only 18% and dropping. Do you know if there is a conservation pool there? 19 feet of water at the dam and going down fast. Is the ash from the fire killing the fish or just the low water?

I don’t believe Minersville has a C pool. 
It does have a conservation pool. There’s a recent video of Minersville after the flash flood on ABC channel 4. Lots of fish up shallow. Iffy situation but doesn’t look like a total loss.
I was wondering if we were going to hear from you about this. I figured with all the water they received in that area. It might make things tough on Minersville. Did all the fish wash down stream? I haven’t heard what happened I was just guessing that a lot of water went into the lake
The Cotton wood fire has burned most of the upper Beaver River drainage. Close to 100000 acres.
That drainage is a bowl topped with 12000 foot peeks. The reservoir sets at 5600, ten miles from the mouth of the canyon.
A thunderstorm that dropped only 1 1/2 “ of rain fell on just a portion of that burn scar the other day. A black wall of debris, log boulders, and silt blasted out the mouth of the canyon destroying a bunch of property in Beaver went right over the I 15, and continued the 10 miles right into the reservoir.
It raised the reservoir level from 17 percent to 19 percent in a few hours.
Luckily there has not been another big cell set up over the scar sense, but it is only a matter of time.
There are those that are saying the exposed lode content combined with the steepness of the terrain found in the burn scar could actually fill the reservoir with debris and silt come a half way decent spring run off.
Just one typical summer thunderstorm has all ready doomed the trout in the entire system.

I stand corrected.
There is a 2,000 ac/ft C pool which amounts to about 8% to be left in the reservoir. The trick is making sure that the C pool isn’t ignored when it gets to that level.
The DNR estimate of fish kill is 2500 out of the 40,000+ that are in there.
No the trout are done, and now the bass and wipers are going belly up to.
Horrific and sad.
Can you provide backup to this. I am not questioning you, just have seen this before only to be supprised that more opinion than fact was being circulated.

On the news last night (channel 5) it showed a picture of dead fish and there were tons of them. I didn’t catch where it said but I’m amusing it was Minersville. Sad.
It was, but they followed up that no all of the trout were dead, but over 2000 were.
I believe it was back in 2020 or 2021 when we had a bad water year and Minersville pretty much dried and died. And it rebounded nicely since then. It sucks to see it low again but it’ll come back just like it did before. It’ll take a few years but itll get there.
Most here don’t seem to understand the difference between what is going on this year and what has happened in years past.
The entire Beaver River drainage in real danger of causing catastrophic damage to not only the fishery, but the entire irrigation delivery system.
Pray it does not happen.
Is that because of how much debris that is washing down stream from the fire damaged area?
