yeah and then no deer.then what, stock em??with new?? and start it all over again?? see that,s the difference betwixt animal and human. animals know how to take care of their own and nature knows how to take care of it, with the predetors anad the young, but i have not seen a time when a HUMAN DOESN,T TRY OR DO to control.somebody started this bull way back or somethin, or are there coyotes there to tone em down some, as fer as predators?? why is there so many then. but to kill em all off seems like whats happenin. this is crazy![crazy][crazy]then with the weeds? thee goes the oxegen fer em. lovely. there,s the control again. but sounds like wht dave and lonehunters talkin bout is certain areas where they only got left and that,s where there deer are to hunt. it,s either there gonna have to go wheere you are or not hunt. and that sucks. cause the cities buildin too much fer too many people. hey can we git rid of the people?? haha no wonder i like my dog. haha too bad. i do wish we couldsomethin to hep. later[:)]
I know people who travel all over the US hunting and they make an average living. They save up and get out and hunt 2-3 times a year. Rest of the time they fish. I am trying to get them on this site to share there experiences. Some of them are older and do not like computers[unsure]
But the pics and stories I hear and see are pretty incredible. I mean tracking a deer or moose or whatever deep in the mountains then killing it, Skinning and cleaning it then humping it out.
Pretty incredible.![]()
yea , we wouldn’t want thoes jet skiers and jet boaters getting there intakes cloged up with fish habitat !
i guess it’s bad enough they gotta dodge us fishermen by inches , contend with weeds too , man they got it rough !
now if they used them in there backyard pools it would solve a whole lot of d.n.r. intervention [;)] .
After listening to your problem there in Mich , seems like there shingling a roof before the roof is on !! I don’t belive in baiting , but if your land that is open to the public is few and far between , I can see how it could help pull the deer off the private land that has that excellent food plot that keep them on the private land !!! I think your biggest problem there is " NO LAND" I think they should be lobbying for the state to buy more land for the general public !! Thats what all that money from licenses should go for !! Here in Minn , within 30 miles from my home , theres over 20,000 acres of state land , in 40 to 1000 acres in size !! Good luck you guys !!
You hit nail on head. More land reserved for animals and when there is to many open to hunters. Seems logical.
michigan is no longer a sports state, it is an industrial state. the all mighty dollar that comes from our pocket never makes it to where it is suspost to go. it goes in to the genneral fund that all our tax dollars go. we can thank millican for that. back in the 60’s he fixed the state budget so that all state natural income would no longer go in to the fund that was dedicated for only state pard and land perchasing.
michigan ueed to do land rentals. Renting lands from farmers and other large land holders like paper mills realestate realtors to allow hunters on those properties.
That sucks. Maybe one year you and lonehunter can team up and come out California way and try some of our hunting. I heard it’s really good. Can go on for miles and miles, or just sit and wait. Whatever works[;)]
Theres also land rental here for the general public , Potlatch , our paper company , has thousands of acres that it leases. You put your application in and if your picked , you can lease that parcel for as long as you like !!! They come in 40 acres and up, and the cost is about 5 dollars an acre ( $5 @ 40 acres = 200 dollars ) , not bad for a year ! Your basically paying the taxes for them !! Good luck on your battle !!
.
Tennesee has something similar, tho’ I dont know the rates.
I have to say that that is a deasent rate. even if I were to only be there for 3 days. I have paid more for an afternoon’s worth of hunting.
I imagin that some of them parcils there in Minnasota have ponds on them with some fantastic fishing?
[:(] Not to many ponds with fish in those leased areas , maybe up north farther.
