Just my 2 cents worth. I realy enjoy this site. I travel through out the US in my job. Reading the posts keeps me close to home each night from my hotel. I have posted stories over the past few years, as well as reports and asked for advise. I have been called a lier a couple of times , but I did’nt lose sleep, I know whats true in my posts. And anyway it’s commonly known we fisherman are convicted truth stretchers. So I say just say enjoy it for what it is, a bunch of fisherman telling fish stories, of which about 50% is accurate, 25% is iffy, and 25% you have to laugh at.
And the problem with reading posts is you don’t know in what light it’s intended. What offends you may be intended as a friendly poke. I choose to believe most are meant as a little fun. And I believe the mods do a perfect job. I think if a post is off enough for the mods to question leaving it on , then it probably should’nt be.
Keep the site going as is.
Here’s my 2 cents…Love to fish and for Monsters all my life…anywhere any species any rig!! As far as this site goes with the “Cacklin Chicken Crap” there IS quite a bit!! My Ma and Pa always said “BE NICE” it’s the GOLDEN RULE! Let’s be nice Kids!!

i think its funny seeing two people go at each other because its over the interwebZ! but if/when they would meet in person, im pretty darn sure they would be quiet civil. like someone said, if you dont like what someone said, just skip over it.

First, I have to thank the moderators also, I see them as like traffic signals. I disagree with those that suggest that there should be no restrictions… (What would driving be like with no traffic lights? )
I do agree, that one must have a thick skin and should “relax” rather than react, but there should also be reasonable limits of what is acceptable and what is not - that should be enforced for obvious running of red lights.
Here are MY two most important reasons:
My son occasionally reads these boards, but there have been a few posters that seem to find the regular need to be blatantly offensive, post out of pure over inflated ego to a large audience, and treat this forum like their personal chat room… (and it’s all the more irksome when such comments would flunk a 3’d grammar test! 
). I would hope that the BFT continues to be a “family friendly.”
I have found this site to be INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! And - I thank those that have even become a friend as a result!!! However, for me it has to do with what many call “signal to noise ratio.” Put simply, if I have to sift thru post after post of non relevant, non helpful, etc., etc., just to find some tidbit of useful info, then it becomes a huge waste of my time. If a person can’t tell the difference of what is valueable and what is not, then I am all for tight enforcements to keep this site from the same path that is so often the case on the internet. The most helpful and experienced people quit posting and eventually leave.
It’s a proven strategy in striving for wisdom, to listen more than one speaks.
