You should also consider the lowrance lcd line of ice machines. They have both real time flasher and traditional time elapse display, both are almost instant read(you twitch your rod and the display responds immediately). They can do a side by side display of the whole water column and zoom in where your jig is at the same time(do that with an old school flasher). The x67’s are about $120 cheaper also.[;)]

Sorry to inform you but my “old school flasher” will do the same thing.

You are right, I forgot the FL-18 with zoom and I am sure others can do it to. I forgot. I just remember that the FL-8 didn’t have that feature(I think)[crazy]. I should be more careful to not disperse bad info.😊

I am still just very happy with my Lowrance M68c ice and was kind of in a hurry when I posted my reply.

But i still think the Lowrance sonars deserve hard consideration.

10 of us went out on the ice today. We had 6 vex’s between us. 4 fl 8’s 1 fl 12 and 1 fl 20. They all worked flawlessly. None had an advantage over the others. We fished in 12 to 40 feet of water. Other than the added bells and whistles of the 12 and 20, they did not produce any more results than the 8. I think it is a matter of what you are used to. In fact, the guys with the 8’s out fished the guys with the newer vex’s.
