I found a new fin out there that I have just GOT to try them out.
I think they are a muti purpose fin

The only problem is I need Yellow and Blue and Red to match my tube/toons.

That is just too funny! Maybe to help you swim to safety in case the bridge you are on collapses!![]()
Just the thing for the fashion-conscious female floater…or maybe a few guys too…like the ones who wear panty hose to keep their tender skin from getting chafed. (Sorry Lloyd)
Hey Marty, I just figured out what was wrong with that bleeding walleye. He had a case of “road bends”. You know how divers can get the “bends”…from coming up too fast and not letting the pressure equalize? I’m guessing that the combination of a mighty hookset and fast decompression gave that poor fish a bad dose of that ailment.
Remember. I have fished with you, and I have witnessed your “gentle” hooksets.
FG…something tells me that you would not be caught dead in heels like that… I could be wrong mind you.. but is just an observation… [sly]

Watch it!
After this weekend, you are probably right…I could KILL myself with those![pirate]
vodka and cranberry takes all the pain away…lol…

I have been wanting to know which fins are best for tubing. Thanks for sharing your findings. I learned a lot from your comments and the comments of others on your post. Who was that guy who made that comment about “pantyhose?” He sounds like a knowledgeable fisherman, even though he has some funny ideas.
I want to try Utah Lake again soon. Your comments about “walleye” caught my eye! A great interest of mine. You said that there are still a lot of bugs at Lincoln Beach. Are some of them mosquitoes? Not too fond of them.
Incidentally, sorry about your hand.
**Hey Lloyd, in case you have not been following the threads on the gorilla floatilla, we have another one scheduled for Tuesday morning, 8/14…at O dark thirty. **
And, as it stands right now, Marty and I are planning a “prefish” this next Saturday morning…same place, early. Of course you are welcome if you wanna join us.
The walleyes started moving in about this time last year too. As the young of the year white bass reach 3" - 4", they swarm along the shallows, next to the reeds. They are prime prey for both walleyes and catfish. But, both of those species hit lots of different baits and lures as well. Plain old crawlers are about as good as it gets…if you can keep the white bass and mud cats away.
I don’t know what Cherie’s plans are for Saturday, and she is not at home right now for me to check with her. However, you mentioned the magic words (“walleye” “catfish”) so plan on me for both Saturday and Tuesday! If there is any problem with Saturday I will let you know immediately. Be more specific with the “O dark thirty” sometime during the week if possible. As far as the place is concerned, I am assuming that you are talking about the right dike (facing the lake) at Lincoln Beach. Am I right?
We will be launching from the end of the south dike (right) at Lincoln Beach, at or before daybreak…5:30-ish.
Mosquitoes are always a potential problem, but have not been as bad recently. Dose up well with skeeter juice as soon as you get out of your vehicle. Later in the morning the midges are more of a problem. They are not biting insects but when they swarm you need a head net to keep them out of your mouth, eyes and ears.
Let me know if you need any guidance on tackle. If you are planning to come on Saturday, I can also bring a package of minnows and/or carp meat for you.
I will be there. Thanks for the information about the insects, and thanks for the minnow/carp meat offer. It is greatly appreciated. I am trying to find a good place to catch some minnows. I have a minnow net and now, a minnow cage. However, I don’t have any minnows yet. I still need to find a good place to harvest some. I will also bring crawlers.
Suggestions on tackle will be appreciated.
Med. light spinning, with six pound line, for white bass and walleyes. Assorted spinners and plastics…chartreuse, white or “Starvation” colors.
Med. spinning or baitcast for kitties…10 pound line with heavier leader. I use 14# Excalibur leaders. Size 4, 2, 1 or 1/0 hooks, depending on size of baits used. I use mostly size 4 red hooks for crawlers or minnows…size 2 or larger for chunks of carp meat.
Will walk you through our system for dragging bait, fishing open bail style.
If you decide you like that stuff, I will have to rig your tube with some of those “bait rigger” rod tubes like we use.
Just got a PM from Kent. Looks like we are going to blindfold you and take you to the secret minnow spot.
Thank you for the guidance on tackle. I know how to prepare now. I got a PM from Kent as well. Sounds good!
Your too much FG LMAO. I have some tube/jig dye will that help?
Dude that fish was caught if 3 feet of water LOL. Heck I nearly out him in the tube with the hook set. And I am to gentle with it. It happens so fast (when I finaaly get it right) they never feel a thing. I have them half way to the tube before they know there something not right.
Thanks Llyod the hand will heel quickly I hope. My bruised ego may take a bit longer.
Mosquitoes? Did you say Mosquitoes as in skeeters, blood suckers, annoying pest. Why yes LlyodE there were plenty of them. They didn’t seem too hungery as I only received one bite.
But they were not the only bitting bugs out there Sat. But the good news is once the sun warmed the air the skeeters went and hid. The bad news is the other bugs took their place.
Marty thanks for the Fin review. I have wondered about the splits but with as much money as even the more inexpensive ones are I was not willing to take that gamble. I just picked up some Quatros for my wife, they are great fins as I HAD to take them out for a test drive. hehe Actually mine are back at Mares getting repaired as my center channel on the x3’s started to rip out due to a flaw in the material.
Majja
Thanks Matt I think I am really going to enjoy the Quattros. They certainly lived up to my expectation when I used them.
Sorry to hear about the x3’s. I a bit surprised too. But as long as Mares is standing behind them. So what did you think about the quattros vs the X3’s? They look similar in design. But I didn’t get the opertunity to try any. Not that I’m compalining.
