Welcome back Chuck, are you still in Colorado?
Hey Curt, yes I’m still in Colorado, I just retired on July 7. Still have to get used to it, I’ve had a job ever since I was 12 years old. Sometimes I think I have to get done before word day comes and then realize I don’t work anymore. Oh well, we’ll see how it goes from here.
Congrats Chuck on your retirement. I’ve been retired for 14 years now and I still dream about having to go to work or being late for work. How’s the fishing been?
Fishing has been pretty slow this year, earlier this year it was good. A lot of the lakes around here are closed for low water and boat ramps out of the water. Boyd lake is at its lowest ever, I’m going walk around it with my gps and map and mark everything. I did a night trip to Boyd the week I retired and got this bass, 19.5in. Lost another one about the same or bigger.
Nice LMB chuck, lake Boyd sure has a nice variety of fish in it. The low water conditions there, sounds a lot like our lakes around her. Sure hope we get a better Winter this year.
Chuck, will you be retired in Colorado or will you be relocating somewhere else?
Hey Kent, I will be staying here in Co. I love this place, I have about a dozen lakes and ponds all within 1 hour drive, a couple of them are just a few minutes away from my house. The drivers sure suck though, even some of the boaters. I have caught some of my biggest fish here, sm,wtb,cat, all from Boyd lake. The best one was my catfish 38in. Thru the ice on a lure with a minnow head. That was a fight from down there. 6lb. Line and 42in. Rod. That was something for sure.
