Fished Willard Wednesday. Launched from North Marina. Plenty of water to safely launch.
Water temp to start was 65° off pushing 70°. Water clarity is murky can see lure down maybe 4-6”.
Started off bottom bouncing for 2 hours not a thing…going .7-1mph. Switched to cranks bumped up speed to 2mph varying speeds and worked it eventually finding a nice Wiper (released) then pulling in lines at the end had a Shad (haha). Fished various depths from 12-15 FOW.
Saw no boils but did see a lot of Western Grebs feeding. Didn’t see any diving birds.
Overall was a beautiful day very slight breeze and bugs weren’t bad at all. Marked lots of fish and a whole lot of bait pods. Competing with all the natural forage is making it tough. Until there’s a huge Shad die off going to be tough fishing we believe. ![]()

Good luck we’ll be out soon again.
