Bonus: I don’t ocean fish, so I’d say a Shark.
Largest fish in Utah from a float tube that I’m aware of is a Lake Trout at 42lbs from Flaming Gorge.
Largest fish, any species, from a float tube. Strictly a guess, Sturgeon. If you are looking for more detail, I’d guess White Sturgeon, from the Snake River.

On the other hand, if you were just waiting for answers whether right or wrong, you came to the right place. I usually have something to say about nothing, or everything, depending on the day.

Hey, Leaky and Curtisfish, I learned a long time ago that if you are going to plagiarize (copy from someone else’s paper), you better be sure they know the right answers.
But, we fishermen learn to use more genteel terms. We don’t copy…we accomodate or appropriate. Just like we don’t lose a fish…we purposely execute a “long line release”, also known as the conservation release.
I gotta say that the clever ones amongst us have patiently waited and watched…put two and two together…and are starting to tickle the perfect score threshold. It looks like the tiebreaker might just be a factor.
It’s okay to go back and edit your answers. Just don’t outsmart yourself and change a right answer to a wrong one. But, if you knew which was which, you wouldn’t have to edit now, wouldja?
WHAT’S THE BIGGEST FISH EVER BESTED FROM A FLOAT TUBE? Trick question. I don’t really know myself. A couple of folks guessed white sturgeon, and I might be inclined to agree. I got towed around by a 115 pounder myself…but I technically didn’t land it from my tube. I worked into a sandy beach area and finished the battle standing.
Some of the kayaking fraternity have been racking up some awesome catches. They have greater mobility and speed in moving water or on the ocean, so they can go out farther and handle bigger fish. And, with a little paddle power, you can even troll at a fairly good clip from a 'yak.
So, while I have landed both stripers and salmon over 40# from a tube, I am probably far from owning any kind of record for the biggest. It would be interesting to find out just what it might be. I’ll work on it.
