What Richard said I think is true and if or when the eyes take over we will lose a very great fishery.
It takes about 5 to 8 years for a fishery to come back,if it can ever come back, and that is why I hate the idea of the walleye in Jordanelle.
Until we can get a feeder fish like shad or shiner or something other then perch all walleye waters will have a boom and bust fishery.
Bassrods- I agree… there is something else I wish to add… bass fishing is a heckuva lotta fun and I wish to keep it that way. I have no desire to see a world class smallie factory go down the tubes just because of the walleye’s presence.
I propose to all those BB to leave the smallmouth fishery alone. I wish that there were more walleye lakes but we only have one world class bass fishery. It’s not too much to ask for because we already have Starvation, Yuba, Willard, Deer Creek and Utah Lake reserved for walleyes. I wish to preserve that world class smallies in Jordanelle.
If there are great catchable walleyes, I will enjoy catching and removing the walleyes out of the lake. It’s a beautiful lake, and it’s not often we get a world class smallie action. I encourage all of you to catch and remove the walleyes to preserve this fabulous 'Nell. Guys, let’s get busy and start removing those ‘eyes for good ole’ times sakes. You guys see any BB near Jordanelle, start beating the crap out of them and get on the cell and call Spvpdgcar for a round-up of those fish perverts…
I thank you iconoclasticPaul for your statements on Jordanelle and wanting to keep the smallmouth and brown fishers going, I hope that all of us can and do some time soon find a food for the walleye lakes so they to will be a world class walleye fishery.

The eyes will be spawning in lake X around June/July time. How about we plan a walleye catch em and keep em outing @ the nelle? 
I’m not sure, but it could be that Jordanelle experiences enough fisherman hours that a simple rule of “If you catch a Walleye at Jordanelle you must keep it” would be enough to keep the Walleye population in check. Such a rule obviously wouldn’t work on a lake if it doesn’t experience enough fisherman hours however. I would personally like to see it remain a great Smallmouth fishery.
I HAVE NOT EVER FISHED LAKE X FOR ANYTHING BUT TROUT. THE SMALLIES HAVE NEVER REALY EXCITED ME. IVE CAUGHTEN MANY THREW THE YRS AT DC STARVATION POWEL EXCT BUT THIS WATER IS INTENDED TO BE FOR THIS PURPOSE AND DESERVES TO STAY AS GOOD AS YOU ALL SAY IT IS. IM NOT SURE IF MANY EYE GUYS WILL ASSIST SOME WILL IM SURE. IF I EVER DO FISH IT I WILL CERTANLEY HUNT FOR THEM. MY INTREST IN THE DEEP WATER FISH SPOKEN OF ON PAULYS LETTER POST HAS ME THINKING OF METHODS FOR PULLING THE BIG FISH UP FOR A CLOSER LOOK.
